About Monty Holloway

 

Monty Holloway began his career in public safety in 1985 with the Arizona Department of Corrections as a civilian employee. In 1988, Monty worked for the United States Department of Justice/ Federal Bureau of Prisons as a corrections officer and eventually was promoted to supervisor. He attended the federal law enforcement training center in Glynco, Georgia. Other assignments with the Department of Justice included government witness security protection as well as a member of the Special Response Team. He was recognized as federal officer of the year in 1990
Monty Worked with the Department of Justice until 1994 at which time he moved to Klamath Fall, Oregon to accept employment with security forces at Kingsly Air Force base. In 1994, Captain Holloway was hired as a corrections officer with the Klamath County Sheriff's Office.


In 1995 Monty was transferred to the patrol division. In 1998 Monty was reassigned as a detective to a major crime unit focusing on homicide and crimes against children. In 2003 Monty was promoted to detective sergeant. He received Klamath County Officer of The Year in 1997, and again in 2001. Monty developed policy and was instrumental in launching Oregon's first certified child abduction response team. Monty served as a team leader during this time on Klamath County Sheriff's Office tactical response team. Monty has been very active developing community partnerships in United Way, and the Center on the Ageing.

In 2005, Monty was promoted to patrol Lieutenant with the Klamath County Sheriffs Office where he commanded all patrol and detective operations before being promoted to Captain over the support services bureau with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. He commanded the criminal investigation division, corrections, training, internal affairs, civil, criminal records, internal affairs, policy, training, CART commander, regional AMBER ALERT call center commander, administration, and oversight of a 28 million dollar annual budget. 
Monty honorably retired after nearly 3 decades in public safety on May 15, 2015. Monty has been married for 28 years and has 4 grown children, including 6 grandchildren. Hobbies include building classic cars, and hot rods.
